What’s the difference between convolute and unitised deburring wheels?

Convolute deburring wheels are wrapped around a standardised core, with the wheels designed to move in one direction. The direction of travel is often indicated by an arrow printed on the side of the wheel. Unitised are layed without a core and can move in both directions, making them perfect for smaller hand tools.

What causes a cut-off wheel to break?

Cut-off wheels can break if the life of the wheel has come to an end. However, more often than not, you’ll find that cutting wheels break because of a poorly clamped workpiece or over speeding the wheel. Before you use a cut-off wheel, check that everything is set up securely to prevent breakage and potential injuries.
